How do you evolve Syther with the metal coat?

One way is to, after getting the National Dex, go to Eterna City and go to the bottom left house in the very corner of Eterna City. You should see Prof. Oak inside. Talk to him and he will give you a Metal Coat. (When you talk to him again he will just talk to you about how many Pokemon you have caught.)

Another way is to first defeat Byron, the Steel Gym Leader in Canalave City,and the Elite Four, then talk to the Sailor just south of the Gym and sail to Iron Island. When you arrive, go up the stairs and into the house. You should see Byron inside. Talk to him and he will give you a Metal Coat.

After getting a Scyther and a metal coat make you Scyther hold the meatl coat and trade it. It will evolve. I suggest doing this with a friend so you can trade back the Pokemon again.
