Best Answer

(5b+1)(3b-2)

You know that 15 only has four factors: 1,3,5, and 15. So the first numbers in the parenthesis are either going to be 1 and 15, or 3 and 5. I would try 3 and 5 first because they are closer together, and the other coefficients in the problem are not super large. So I had (5b )(3b ). Then, I looked at -2. There are two ways to get that: -2 x 1 or -1 x 2. Put one set into the parenthesis, foil it out and see if its right. If not, try the other. That's it!

What is a2 - 2ab - 15b2 factored completely?

a^(2)- 2ab - 15b^(2) When the first term has a coefficient of '1' (a^(2)), then look at the third term. It is '15'. So we need two numbers that multiply to '15' and 'add/subtract'to '2'. They are 3. & 5. So writing up our brackets ( a 5b)(a 3b) Which signs??? We note from the quadraic , that '15' is negative(-) . So the brackets need one positive(+) and one negative(-) Since the middle term is also negative(-) , then the larger numerical number takes the negative. Hence ( a - 5b)(a + 3b) Done!!!!

Factor the expression 100A2 - 49B2?

100a2 - 49b2 is the difference of two perfect squares. Therefore, it is equal to the sum times the difference of the roots: (10a + 7b)(10a - 7b)

What is the answer to 3 times 7b minus 2?

The question is worded amibiguously. Do you mean 3(7b)-2, or 3(7b-2)? 3(7b) - 2: 2 = 21b 2/21 = b 3(7b -2): 21b - 6 = 0. 21b = 6 b = 6/21 = 2/7.
