How do you find hyphen notation?

Wiki User

It is the element, hyphen, then the mass number. Example: Uranium-235 Knowing this, we can conclude that the mass number of Uranium is 235. If we look at the atomic number of Uranium, which is 92, we know that Uranium has it has 92 protons, 92 electrons (unless it has a charge other than zero), and 143 neutrons (Mass number - Atomic number).
