2006 Toyota Highlander Brake Light Bulb Troubleshooting (check in this order):
· Check Fuse(s)
· Check Brake Bulbs - Including bad bulbs, loose connected or incorrectly installed bulbs, left, right and center high mount - 1 bad bulb or connection in the circuit can cause the entire circuit to malfunction.
· Check Turn Signal Bulbs
· Check switch on brake pedal
· Check license plate light bulb and wiring (sometimes on same circuit)
· Check trailer hitch wiring harness (sometimes on same circuit)
· Check all wiring harnesses and wiring for shorts
Most likely it's the fuse or a burnt bulb breaking the circuit. Sometimes the license plate and/or the trailer hitch is wired into other circuits and can cause issues in other areas.
