If this is the 2.8 v6 then the high idle is probably a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines for leaks and to verify that they are routed as the sticker on the deck lid shows. Check the EGR tube as these fail often and is most likely the cause. Also check throttle body and intake manifold gaskets. Spray parts cleaner on these areas while engine is idling; if the idle speed temporarily drops then you have found the leak!
