On mine, the spring-loaded button in the steering column had worn down so it was no longer making contact. I very carefully took an spent .22 shell and slipped it over the button. This worked even though it was a tight squeeze reaching into the area. You have to remove the plastic housing around the steering column to access this area. It's only a couple of screws. The spring-loaded button constantly rides up against the steering wheel center area, so it's always making contact and hence wearing down. I hope this helps you. Maybe another similar shaped object would work, but the spent .22 shell is the best I could find. It's the perfect fit.

You need to know what the problem is before you can fix it. Need to know if it is the fuse, the relay, the switch contacts, the horn or the clock spring (in some cases).

To fix the horn on a 1988 Toyota pickup, first, check the fuse related to the horn in the fuse box and replace it if it's blown. Next, inspect the horn itself, which is usually located in front of the radiator, and test it by connecting it directly to a power source. If the horn doesn't sound, it may need to be replaced. Lastly, check the wiring and the horn switch on the steering wheel for any faults or disconnections.
