The drain petcock is on the bottom left hand of the radiator(left if your looking directly in the engine compartment, right if your seating in the drivers seat). Its right above the bracket that holds the radiator in the bottom mount. Undo the petcock and then take off the reservoir cap. Once it's flushed, refill the reservoir with water (after you closed the petcock) run the engine for about 10 mins and then flushed again. Once flushed for the second time, refill with dexcool coolant and then your good. If someone can also point out to me where is the exact location of the reserve coolant so I can fully drain the coolant in the engine. Thanks!

To flush the radiator in a 2007 Saturn Ion 3, first ensure the engine is cool and then locate the radiator drain plug at the bottom of the radiator. Place a container beneath the plug, open it, and allow the old coolant to drain completely. Next, close the drain plug and fill the radiator with a radiator flush solution, then run the engine for about 10-15 minutes with the heater on high. Finally, drain the flush solution, refill with fresh coolant, and check for leaks.
Fill your coolant to the level that it should be at. If it still comes on when the coolant is at its proper area, then it is an improper sensor. You will need to have it replaced immediately to reset the sensor.
The low coolant message on your 2004 Saturn Ion indicates that the engine coolant level is below the minimum required threshold. This could be due to a leak, evaporation, or insufficient coolant added during maintenance. It's essential to address this warning promptly, as low coolant levels can lead to engine overheating and potential damage. Check the coolant reservoir and refill it if necessary, and investigate any possible leaks.
The low coolant fluid sensor on a 2004 Saturn Ion is located in the coolant reservoir tank. It is typically mounted on the side of the reservoir and is responsible for detecting the coolant level. To access it, you'll need to remove any necessary components to reach the reservoir, as it may be obstructed by other parts in the engine bay. Always ensure the engine is cool before attempting any maintenance.

Have ALL the fluid drained and replaced with the exact fluid that Saturn recommends. Use not other fluid. Do not flush.

I have a 2004 Saturn Ion with 108,214 miles on it. I change my oil every 3000 miles, and flush the trasmission out every 50000 miles. The only parts i had to replace so far were the breaks twice, and the wheel bearings. The cars still running great.
