How can you get Ditto in Pokemon HeartGold?

Go to the Pokemon mansion and walk around for a while and you will get ditto.

You can also go to the Cerulean Cave, where dittos are MUCH stronger. 60+!

or if you can't go in the cerulean cave yet or cant get to the Pokemon mansion yet, you can rarely get a ditto in the patches of grass that are in front of the Easter entrence of fuchsia city.

It doesn't say on your pokedex but on six island in the dotted hole you can fnd one (VERY RARE) took me an HOUR to find mine at level 39!

You can find Dittos in Routes 13, 14, 15, the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island or Cerulean Cave (only after defeating the Elite Four).
Ditto can be found a few places one of which is cerulean cave.
In the Cerulean City Cave, also where you can catch Mewtwo.

I found mine on the 4th floor of the Pokemon Mansion.
You can find Ditto on route 14 were all the bikers are! Also ditto can be found in cerulean cave.
Ditto can be found in three places: Pokemon Mansion, the Route west of Lavendar Town in the grass, and Cerulean Cave.

You go to fuchsia city. then the right enter/exit then there they should have 2 rows of grass left and right. Then a ditto can appear. Try and catch it!

The strongest dittos are on route 47. but you cant find it can you ? well ill tell you why and how to get it. first defeat all the people in Johto. then in ice path you get the TM waterfall. go to the entrance at cianwood city and keep on going until you reach the cave. go down the ladder and exit. surf to the nearest waterfall (you better have already taught your Pokemon watterfall or you cant do this) press A and go up go upstream until you find this patch of grass. becareful because there you will find the strongest Pokemon (wild) in Jhoto. there are also miltank,fearow,spearow,gloom, and noctowl at night.

go to the trophy garden in the hall and turn right then talk to mister backlot and click yes for every envious thing he sais and then wait and it will pick a random Pokemon and its not ditto turn it off then try again and the when he sais "a cute eyed ditto came and kissed me on the cheek" then there will be a ditto in his backyard

In the safari zone or in other areas around Johto. In the safari zome you can change areas for different Pokemon that are hard to catch out of the safari zone. Ditto is just a transforming Pokemon you can put it in day care and have eggs (breed Pokemon) with it. Which i did that with a stantler and a flaffy too. Ditto is a GENDERLESS Pokemon.

Go to GoldenRod city..

Next, go down you will see a big patch of grass. Go into the grass and run around until you run into a ditto.

finally, when you see a ditto, send out the best Pokemon you have then keep throwing any kind of ball you want!

Near the daycare south of Goldenrod there are patches of long grass, ditto can be found there. There are some other places but that is the easiest and most obvious.
