They have an application form on their website at http://www.borders.com/online/store/BGIView_careers
You will have to fill out an application for each store and each position you apply for.
Make sure you have details about your previous work history and professional and personal references ready before you start.
The application also contains a lot of multiple choice questions about your personality and personal preferences. Be sure to answer honestly.
Also, as with any job, about a week after you have applied call the store you applied to in person and ask to talk to the manager. Tell him/her that you filled out an online application, but you wish to touch base personally and check on the status of your application. Be assertive but not pushy when talking to a manager.
They also hire a lot of temporary help during the holidays. Ask at the front desk of your local store when they plan to start hiring the holiday help.
