Get a rag, and get it wet (not soaked because then the carpet gets soaked and takes longer to dry)
Then go to the stain and start rubbing it. The harder you rub, the faster and better way it can come out
If, everything looks good you should rinse with water and a wet-dry vacuum. Pour a cup of water on the area then suck up the water and repeat.
To speed the dry time of the area, use a fan or hair dyers for a short time.
