You can get a virtual Webkinz for free, but only if you win a contest that will give you the code as a prize.
The only way to get a free Webkinz plush code is to steal its tag from the plush while it is still in the store. This is not recommended.
Don't use codes you find in YouTube videos or the like. You may have to tell your Webkinz World username to get the code, and that way, people can hack your account by saying they forgot the password and then typing in the code you were given.
Only enter contests to get Webkinz codes if they are directly from the Webkinz Newz site, or from the Webkinz Insider site.

You can adobt a virtual webkinz through the webkinz e-store. Go to www.webkinz.com and then click "e-store" under the login button. From there you can use real cash to purchase points and get a virtual pet. They are usually 12,500 points which is $12.50. This is cheaper than a full size webkinz but you can get a 'lil kinz at a retail store for less. Another idea is to wait for a sale at Walgreens and get one of the Webkinz Cares pets for only $5 and use that one to login a new webkinz account. Hope this helps. Be careful...it's addicting even for us adults.
