it can be really hard. Especially if you were/are in a gifted program like me. I found it easier to do your homework first, and try to finish long term assignments a day before it's due or before. To do this, pretend you had a writing assignment due in 2 weeks. Then every day do around 1/13 of it. Then you will have it done a day before it's due. Also try to do your homework that's due the next day first, then work on the long term assignments. If your school uses computers, remember to save your work in many locations at your home computer, and bring the newest copy of anything to school every day, even if it's a minor edit. Never delete anything from your computer, you never know when your teacher will forget where he/she put it and then you find out you don't have it.

Aiming for perfection is fine so long as you don't beat yourself up if you don't make it!

You have to work very hard to get perfect grades - attend all of your classes and take good notes every day, study every day and extra before a test, do all of your homework and maybe some extra credit work, and ask the teacher for help any time there is something that is hard to understand. Even with all of this hard work, you may not get perfect scores! Not everyone is good at every single subject, and most people have at least one subject that is especially hard for them.

I like to encourage students to try for the best grade they can get by working hard, without feeling that they have to be perfect. It's a lot more healthy to understand that you can't really ever be perfect.

Here are some specific tips:

  • Complete all your assignments on time
  • Show up for school daily and pay attention
  • Take good notes in class
  • Read the textbook and take notes from that
  • Study using your notes, homework papers, and old quizzes/tests
  • Ask about doing extra credit assignments
  • Read outside of class - learn more than just the textbook
  • Watch educational TV shows about the class subject
  • Surf the internet for more information

I'm currently in eleventh grade and I have a 4.0 GPA. I use to wonder the same thing because in ninth grade I had C's, D's, and F's. I then realized the only way to get straight A's in tenth grade was to try harder. Yea everybody's probably told you the same thing but I'm telling you exactly what I went through to get straight A's even in the classes I hated so much. I became really determined, so determined I started spending hours on homework every weekend. the only way you can get straight A's is determination. You have to get along with all your teachers and study when needed. I took a lot of notes which really helped. I always completed every assignment even if I had to turn it in late. You just have to try and have a positive attitude towards school most of the time. now that I get straight a's I love school and I can't wait for school to begin after summer.

Here's some easy suggestions to get you to be a straight A student in no time! -Immediately when you hear there is an upcoming test, start studying. -Don't procrastinate on anything!! Ever!! -Do more than the teacher asks you. For example: if the math teacher assigns only odd numbered questions on a textbook page, do the even numbers, too. You will get better at it. -Show a good additude. You may get extra points! -When you get home from school on Fridays, do your homework to get it over with and know it's all done. -Pay attention in class. You never know if they will pop a quiz at you. -If you do bad on a test, try to do extra well on the next test to average out your grade. Remember~While on vacation have a great time, but when it comes to school and grades, you need to be serious for your own good! I really hope this helped. And keep in mind that you dont have to be the smartest kid in the class to get straight A's!!!

The best strategy is to go to class, do the assignments and ask questions if you don't understand the material. If you do the reading and complete the assignments, you have a good chance of getting grades of A on your report card.

First, you must do homework or else you will easily fail. Next, take notes and write down important information and key ideas. Review and study for tests with homework as a large guide. Possess workbooks for future exams. And every night, study and review for about 5 minutes on every subject so you can remember important information. If there is a test or quiz coming up, study a little each night. Don't cram everything in your head the day before the test!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WORK HARD!
