Hypercam is a PC program that will not run under the Mac OS. You can capture simple still screen shots by pressing Shift-Command-3. To define an area to take a snapshot of, press Shift-Command-4 and use the crosshairs to define the area you want a picture of.
If you want to capture on-screen action there are a number of programs available. Some are: Copernicus, ScreenRecord, Captureit, Capture Me, iShowU, Screenflick, Screen Mimic, Screenium, and I use Snapz Pro X.
Hypercam is only available for the Windows operating system and will not work with Mac OS X. There are numerous alternatives available for the Mac. If you have the latest version of Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) then Quicktime can record your screen for you. Alternatives include iShowU, Snapz Pro, ScreenFlick or Camtasia amongst many others.
