Being overweight is not a factor in Juvenile Diabetes. Being overweight can play a role in developing Type 2 Diabetes (Juvenile Diabtes is also knows as Type 1 Diabtes) No one actually knows what causes Juvenile Diabets, But genetics can play a role. I did not know diabetes ran in my family on both side, so I did not make an effort to eat correctly- so maybe the food I was eating had triggered the cells in my body- I dont know really. You can also be born with Juvenile Diabetes. I wasn't born with it, I was diagnosed when i was 12, but hell I may as well have been born with it. And by the way I'm 5'4 and I weigh 126 lbs. I've been "skinny' all my life. Don't believe the hype.
