How do you get latitude and longitude on Google Maps?

you get a decent GPS and put in the longitude and latitude of the place you want to go to. then you go in the direction that the GPS tells you until you are right on top of the coordinates you put in.

To get latitude and longitude on Google Maps, you can simply right-click on the location on the map and select "What's here?" Google Maps is very good at finding the place when you HAVE the latitude/longitude.

But it's not designed to go the other way.

If you want the latitude/longitude of a spot you choose on the map, then you're

way better off using Google Earth instead.

Many maps are overprinted with a latitude-longitude grid; it's helpful to use such a map. Most aeronautical maps and marine navigation maps have such a grid pre-printed.
