had the same prob. everything worked fine but when i would turn the key nothing would happen. then i put my key in the drivers door and unlocked it that way instead of using the remote and then it started rite up.
In order to deactivate theft mode on a Ford Windstar, the key has to be programmed to do so. If you have the original key, you need to call Ford and they will do it for you.

its always in theft mode. There should be a little light that will flash on the dash or around the speedometer when the ignition is off and the key is out.
I believe your engine coolant level is LOW
check your owners manual. the majority of the time, their is a 3 -6 digit code (depends on brand and model) that you punch in. usually it is on a card or something that cAME WITH YOUR MANUAL / BOOKLET. iF YOU DON'T HAVE IT... CALL YOUR DEALER $$$$.
There is problem with the electronic throttle and it puts a 30mph limit on your engine.
check the battery condition, clean terminals, connect after 15 min.
Just hit reset on your dash when this warning comes up.Worked for me!

You can put the system in valet mode by inserting the key into the ignition hole and out five times. in and out with out turning the key. This will put the system in valet mode and suspend it's normal operations.
