well, from the answer above you have to invite a friend over to your town and get them to buy somethin from ur shop (nookway) but to get the upgrade u also have to spend 240,000 bells at nookway and then the next day or a few days (im not sure) later you will have nookingtons! After you get nookingtons you will have the Shampoodle (the hair salon) and Timmy and Tommy (Nook's nephews) will take care of the 2nd floor (yes it will be two stories high)

First you have to pay off your mortgage until you have the 5 room mansion. Then you have to have the Platinum membership at Nookway. Next you must have spent 240,000 bells at Nookway. Last you another player must come to your town and buy 2 items from Nookway (20,000 nook points). Soon Tom Nook will tell you that in a few days Nookway will be closed for remodeling. He will remodel to Nookingtons. Nookingtons contains the hair salon. That is how you get Nookingtons.
