hHir spray works good on any surface with permanent marker on it.
The solvent for permanent marker is denatured alcohol (hardware store). But it will also require plenty of elbow grease.
Amputate the affected area.
See if alcohol helps ~x

I have found nothing to get permanent marker off of anything. That is why it is called permanent. It stays.
Not coming off

I would try fingernail polish remover. That will take permanent marker off of almost anything.
to get permanent marker off my backpack is nail polish remover or it will just faid away eventually
you use sunscreen
bleach or hard scrubbing um, try this, put dry erase marker on top of the permanent marker and erase it with a tissue
A permanent marker was used to stay forever, but they don't. A regular marker is easy to wash off and doesn't stay for a very long time.
