There are many ways to earn and/or buy pets.

You may purchase one from the shopping district in Wizard City (or most other worlds but you must pay), get a pet drop from a boss (Nightshade is a good idea), or earn one from your quests (at level 7 you earn a piggle).

You may also buy crowns and select a pet from the crown shop. Hope this helped, good luck!

Yes you can. You have to play games in pet pavillion and once the experience increases to full it grows up. BUT, there is a number by your mana and health place. That's how much energy you have to play games. As you level up, that energy will increase so you can play games to level your pet up longer. I have a dragon as a pet,(I think that once a dragon is either ancient or epic you can ride on it).

Getting pets in Wizard101 is very easy. One way is by defeating creatures and bosses. Some have a pretty low chance of getting a pet. Another way is by quest. There is only one quest I know of which gives you a pet, and that is one having do with Penny Dreadful. You must find her in either Dark Cave or Haunted Cave, I believe it was haunted, and talk to her. You'll get experience and a Blue Cyclops, as well as other items. You've probably seen many people with Cyclopes. And the most common way is by buying pets. I'm guessing you're still in early Wizard City, so I would recommend the Bizarre. There's pretty much everything you need there. But if you don't like the organization of the Bizarre, go to the Shopping District and buy pets and everything else you need there.
