Sometimes, the wood smell is made because of the kind of wood in your house. Try searching the nearest home depot for some kind of those cleaner things that you use to wipe the walls.
If the mothball smell is really from mothballs (para-dichloro-benzene) then you just have to leave the windows open for a day or two and the smell will go away.
