How do you get rid of the hundreds of flies in your house?

Use Insecticide.

* Make sure first they aren't breeding inside the house. * Install flyscreens on all doors and windows. If that is not possible can you isolate, say, the kitchen/ eating room?

* A ceiling fan can keep flies away from a meal table if you can't keep them outside. * Chrysanthemum plants have pyrethrum which is a natural insecticide. * My father once obtained a paint that contained insecticide. The room he painted was constantly filled with dead flies. I wonder what the fumes did to my brain.

* You can make a fly trap from an empty soft drink bottle. Several of them around the garden might help. (Cut off the top third and reverse it, so it points downwards into the base. Once flies get in they can't find their way out. Bait it with some finely ground meat in water. The meat will rot and flies will be attracted to it. They will drown in the mixture which can then be added to your garden.)
A fly light trap is the best way-assuming they are larger flies and not small gnats. they respond well to UV. It's either that or you have to space treat areas. If it is a constant problem, look for anything conducive nearby and remedy-dumpsters, etc. potential fly breeding sites. Exclusion with screens or an air curtain or even fans, outside zappers etc. are other ideas. Just mount so lights do not draw flies to the entrance(s)

But we do have a recycling bin in the cellarway that I keep a garbage bag in, and don't replace it very often, so maybe that is where they are breeding.

They are breeding nearby. Fly size will tell you what the source could be & where to look.

you can get these sticky strips flys are attracted to and thay get stuch and die. its 100% safe unless it gets caught in your hair but its still VERY safe.

check your garbage first and after that clean house with bleach especially the kitchen
