There is no way to get rid of the magnifying glass when you are on a page with multiple pins, such as your home feed, a board page, or a topic page. These pages will always show the magnifying glass.
However, once you are on a single pin page (by clicking on a pin from the home feed or board page), you will now see the hand icon.
