Go to Petalburg Woods, left of Petalburg City, and walk around in the tall grass until you find one. Slakoth only has a 5% encounter rate so you may have to walk around for several minutes to find one. If you hope to eventually get Slaking from it, Slaking is really only good for filling the Pokedex. He’s not much of a fighter with his ability and even an annoyingly common Zigzagoon has him beat as an HM slave.

∙ 13y agoIf you have a master ball, you could always use that. Otherwise, you'll have to use an ultra ball. Pokeballs will not work on legendary Pokemon very well.

∙ 12y agoBring a Pokemon that knows the move headbutt to route 25. Use headbutt on the four most northwest trees, you should be able to find a slakoth there :D

Pokemon Platinum is the best. Platinum may be good, but I think the besyt game is the new HeartGold and SoulSilver versions. They are take place in Joto, except this is made for the ds, and it's very similar to platinum. It even comes with a pokewalker accesory, which you can put ur Pokemon onto it, and off of the game. And every 1,000 steps u take with ur pokewalker on ur belt, ur Pokemon u transfered to it levels up!! That way u don't need to battle to gain levels, and u don't need to use up rare candies! In fact, I used to think platinum was the best, but now that I saw the commercial for HeartGold and SoulSilver, I don't want to play any Pokemon game than HeartGold and SoulSilver!
