Try using more sticky residue as most glues when solidified can be removed by slightly rubbing them or using the same glue to remove but be careful, just try it what is there to loose. TOUGH LOVE LARRY
I bought a gorgeous red suede jacket at a yard sale. Only one problem- when I removed the giant masking tape price tag - it left a big patch of residue. Here's how I was able to remove it ... I applied packing tape to the area, pressed it down very hard & then pulled it up. I did that 4 times & you can not tell there was ever a problem in that area. Whew! CLEVER SHEL

Pull the paper completely off, then remove the residue with Lift-Off or Goo-Gone
Put it in warm water for a few minutes the get one end and pull it slowly. Get residue off with Goo Gone.
Use Goof-Off. It works wonders for cleanly removing all kinds of sticky stuff and adhesive residue.

Buy a product called "Goo-Gone"- it should remove label residue and has a lemon scent
Use Avon Skin So Soft, peanut butter, or something with an oil base.
Pull it off then use Lift-Off to remove any sticky stuff
The best way to remove a sticky residue from plastic is to use a gentle emulsifier. A gentile antibacterial soap and a soft bristle brush can normally get rid of a sticky residue.
Use nail polish remover and a rag to scrub it off.

A label maker will do it for you. it will print one out, take off the sticky stuff and put it on what you want to label.
To remove sticky residue from a book cover, try using rubbing alcohol or an adhesive remover. Apply a small amount to a cloth or cotton swab and gently rub the residue until it lifts off. Be cautious not to damage the book cover or pages while cleaning.
WD-40 works well removing the sticky residue.
gently rub baby oil or WD40 on it.....
