Why has guideplus stopped working I do not receive teletext from host channel sky eurosport 410?
Here is a cut down version for people who use Sky Eurosport as their Guide+ Host Channel, and the Guide (EPG) in their DVD Recorder (or whatever) has stopped working. 1. As of 2nd September 2011, Eurosport is still transmitting teletext on Sky Channel 410. Teletext is the means by which Guide+ gets the TV program names, times etc. to populate the guide grid. 2. In my case, the Sky Digibox was blocking the teletext and had to be reset. 3. Reset the Sky box by unplugging from the mains for a short time, then re- connect & switch on. 4. To check the teletext data, put the DVD recorder into STANDBY and tune to Eurosport on Sky channel 410. Press the TEXT button on your TV remote. If all is well, you will see the text pages; if no text appears then Guide+ will still not work and you have a different problem. 5. Assuming the check in (4) was OK, the Guide should update (at least partly) after 24 hours. Remember to leave your DVD recorder on STANDBY and Sky box ON, otherwise the update will not work. Updates seem to happen around 4 a.m. and 4 p.m and take several hours).
