The first step is removing the tires from the vehicle. Then the brake calipers will need to be removed. Once the calipers are off, take the cap off the area in the center of the rotor. This will give you access to the nut holding the rotor on. Removing the nut on the spindle gets the rotor off.

∙ 12y agoYou don't need to take the rotors off to change the brake pads.
If you need to replace the rotors or get them turned, here's how to get them off:
1) Make sure you remove the 2 small Philips head screws.
2) give the rotor a hard whack with a hammer, if this fails you will need 2 bolts, (6mm I believe). The rotors have threaded holes to insert bolts to force the rotors off the wheel hub, (this is a poor man's gear puller). If this fails to break the corrosion weld, you have 1 last option - cut the rotors off. I had to go this route, but with an air cutoff wheel it was quick. All you need to do is cus a groove near the wheel hub and hit the rotor with a hammer. I was replacing my rotors, so thhis was no big deal.
Make sure you coat the hub surface with never seize and next time the rotors will easily come off.
