The grading standards for gold are the same as all other coins.

It is second grade or you can say 2nd grade.
Grade S:Super. Grade A:Awesome. Grade B:Better. Grade C:Cool.Grade D:Darn(Down). Grade F:Failure.

It depends on the grade of the gold, usually yes.
14k gold is a higher grade. The 14k means that it contains 14/24 parts gold, while the 10k contains only 10/24 parts gold. Lots of info about gold at link below.
That is a down grade.
Anything lower than 10k cannot legally be sold as gold in the US.
