First, brush it, then wash it, blow dry it, brush it again, then possibly trim.

Always wash and completely dry your dog before you try and cut or brush out it's hair. if there are many knots do try to brush them out before you wet them down cause that could cause them to get tighter.

Once the dog is washed and completely dry this will cause more hair to release so you can brush them out better or your clipper blade will cut through the hair easier.

Always use a clipper from front to back, top to bottom on a dog never against the grain.
