These customers do not know what to buy. It is the salesperson's responsibility to help undecided customers make up their minds. Some undecided customers worry about making purchases. So as a salesman, only show them a few items. If you show them too much, they will often become confused about what to purchase.

Some of the ways to deal with undecided type customers are : (i) Showing limited varieties (ii) Closing sales (iii) Explaining selling points in detail (iv) Application of pressure.

(i) Showing limited varieties

The salesman should not show too many varieties of articles to these customers. Because of their indecision, they should be provided with only limited varieties.

(ii) Closing sale

Whenever the salesman finds the hesitant customers showing signs of favoring one item, he should immediately push hard on that item and close the sale.

(iii) Explaining selling points in detail

Whenever a customer of this type is unable to come to a final decision, the salesman must provide sufficient information about the product and explain in detail the selling points so that he will be interested to purchase a particular product.

(iv) Application of pressure

Sometimes application a little pressure helps the salesman to achieve his objective. However pressure should be applied whenever the prospect shows any positive sign favoring one item.
