To figure out how to increase 13 stitches evenly across 100 stitches, you divide 100 by 13, which gives you 7.7. This means you want to increase every 7 or 8 stitches. It doesn't matter exactly where the increases are placed as long as they're distributed throughout the 100 stitches instead of all in one place. This will make for a nice even increase instead of a bulge in one place. Be sure to count the stitches at the end of the row to make sure you now have a total of 113.

To end up with 123 stitches by adding 12 stitches evenly across 111 stitches. The answer is:

Add the extra stitch at the beginning of the row, then every 9 stitches add the extra stitch and at the end of the row, end with another extra stitch.

The trick to knowing how to answer this is that you need to remember that every time you add the extra stitch, you are ADDING to the overall number of stitches in the row.

Therefore, you begin with an extra stitch (now having 112 stitches in the project); stitch 9 stitches, then add another extra stitch (now you have 113 stitches); stitch 9, add the extra (114 stitches); and so on, by the end, you will have a total of 122 stitches, therefore finish with one more stitch to end up with 123 stitches.

I'm sure that there is a mathematical formula for this, I just played with the numbers until I got what I needed.

What is the arrangement of electrons in a covalent bond?

usulally they are shared and are localised around the 2 atoms being bonded. In 3 center 2 electron bonds as in B2H6 they are across 3 atoms. Also there are delocalised covalent bonds , delocalised across more than two atoms- examples graphite, benzene.

What trend electronegativity do you see across period on the periodic table?

The trend as you move from left to right across a period in the periodic table, the electronegativity increases due to the stronger attraction that the atoms obtain as the nuclear charge increases. Moving down a group, the electronegativity decreases due to the longer distance between the nucleus and the valence electron shell, thereby decreasing the attraction, making the atom have less of an attraction for electrons or protons.
