Changing a clock spring is not a job for a novice. you need to remove the air bag then the steering wheel then you can see the clock spring. next you need to remove the steering column cover which is easier if you unbolt the column and lower it. This will give you access to the wiring connections.
Good luck

05 clock spring
A spring-driven clock uses a tightly wound spring to store potential energy. As the spring unwinds, the energy is transferred to gears, which regulate the movement of the clock hands. The escapement mechanism, controlled by the gear train, ensures that the clock hands move in precise increments.
A spring powered clock is a type of mechanical clock that uses a mainspring as its energy source. The mainspring is wound up manually, usually with a key, and as it unwinds it powers the clock's movement, causing the hands to move and the clock to keep time.
the spring is in the water at the iceberg but you will need to get it!
A clock spring is used to regulate the movement and control accuracy. It is precisely crafted to a tight tolerances.
As per www.totalrecallinfo.com there are 3 recalls on this item, but not the clock spring.
how to replace a clock spring in a 95 honda civic ex
Potential energy is stored in a wound up spring of a clock. This potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy as the spring unwinds and powers the clock's movements.
Mine did. Fairly easy install, just make sure you install out correctly. It took me a while to figure out why my turn signals wouldn't disengage anymore.
The energy stored in the spring of a clock is potential energy. As the spring is wound up, it is compressed or stretched, storing potential energy. This potential energy is then slowly released as the spring unwinds, powering the clock mechanism.
The clock spring is located inside the steering wheel behind the airbag.
