How do you kill a striped hyena in dangerous hunts 2011?

my husband JUST beat him!!! He stayed on the 2 round rugs in the room and only left them to pick up health packs. He used the heavy rifle (until he ran out of bullets) and then went to the shot gun. He hurt him the worst when the hyena bit his leg. You need to shoot him in the heart when he bites you (this does the most damage and gives you life).
