you pick the knife out of your weapon inventory and then you go up to the person you wanna kill and press R1 you have to be pretty close to them to knife.

To use a knife in SOCOM: Combined Assault, first make sure you have equipped a melee weapon in your loadout. Then, when you are close to an enemy, press the melee button (typically the R3 button on PlayStation controllers) to perform a knife attack. Keep in mind that the knife attack is most effective when performed from behind an enemy.
