How do you know heaven is real?

I being a Christian live my life by faith. I truly believe The Bible is the Word of God. The Bible tells me that there is a heaven, a place where God lives and at the present time Jesus Christ lives also. I am also told that because i put my faith in Jesus Christ I have become a child of God and that when I die I will live in heaven with God and Jesus and all who have put their faith in Him.

Many people have asked, "how do you know heaven is real"?, and I ask, "How do you know that heaven is not real"? There is no proof except in my heart.

There is no proof or evidence that heaven is real. Even if there were proof that God exists, that could be seen as indirect evidence for the existence of heaven but, again, there is no proof or evidence that God exists.

In ancient times, heaven was probably necessary to religion as a promised reward for those who took part in religious rituals and worshipped God. So, belief in heaven serves an important purpose, but belief is a matter of faith, not proof. If you really believe, then proofs are not necessary.
