The safest and most accurate way if you are inexperienced, would be to take your poodle to your veterinarian, he or she can tell you how far long she is and when you can expect your dog to have her puppies.

Your local vet can help tell if she is pregnant. They can do it by 3 ways:

1. X-ray at 55 days into the pregnancy

2. An ultrasound after 3 weeks

3. Palpation after 4 weeks

Dogs are pregnant on average for 63 days. Without going to the vet there is not many way to tell on your own.

Up to a week before you may start to notice their belly get bigger and they may become a little lethargic.

Some dogs will increase their eating and other will decrease up to a week before.

She was in heat and had access to a male dog. Otherwise at 21 days a vet can sometimes tell. Otherwise assume she is if she was in heat and able to get to another dog. Begin feeding her a puppy food and daily calcium supplement (this is SUPER important for small dogs) assuming she is pregnant and in 40 days she will begin to show and at 60 days she will whelp. Please see a vet to get her wormed and checked out and to make a birth plan. Toy breeds sometimes have difficult labors and may require veterinary intervention. Start reading as much as you can about dog breeding. It is not for the faint of heart. Dogs are some of the harder animals to breed. Especially toy ones have so much which can go wrong.
