How can you tell if a sugar glider is female?

You cannot tell when a sugar glider is pregnant. The gestation period in marsupials is short, and the young joeys are bean-sized. It is only possible to tell when a female sugar glider is carrying joeys in her pouch when they grow much larger.

The baby is only the size of a grain of rice when it is born. there is no way to tell until the baby begins to grow in the pouch of the mother, where it climbs after being born. That being said, you may get some hint by actions, such as being more defensive or aggressive. While growing in mom's pouch mom kind of looks like a pregnant cat.
