How can you tell if an hard boil egg is bad?

how i usually make it is put the eggs in the water until it boils once it starts boiling keep them in for 10 minutesafter the 10 minutes soak in cold water for 5 minutes (unless you like them hot)after that use them how ever you like.Soaking in cold water also stops the black ring that forms round the yolk if you let it cool naturally

You can candle it by shining a bright light behind it and looking through it to see if the yolk is intact. The other method is to put it in water and see if it sinks. If it floats it means it is bad and should be thrown away.

see if it floats when you place it in a pan of cool water. If it floats it is old , and should be tossed out.

The sulfuric smell is a good indicator. However if the egg was hardboiled a week ago it's time to toss.

Hard Boiled eggs with last until about 10 days after cooking. If you are debating whether they are bad or good, then just eat one to see. If you eat a bad egg you won't die.
