It uses a 12 gram C02 powerlett
see the link below for the owners manual.
See the link below for the Crosman 454 Owners Manual.
CO2 powered weapons are usually fitted with a removable cartridge - which is stored in the handle of the gun.
You take off both grips. The C02 nozzle faces up into the gun. Tighten it as tight as you can and make sure you tighten it as tight as you can. I also recommend you use pellgunoil it increases the maximum FPS and keep the seal nice and tight. If you use the pellgunoil it will keep your airgun working like new for as long as you can keep it. If you would like to download the "Owners Manual" for the Crosman 357 click on the link Below. Crosman has it on there web page.
It all depends on the model you are asking about. I suggest that you go to the link I have below and locate the owners manual for your air rifle.
You can recycle it.
You don't take the seal off the 12 gram CO2 cartridge. You put it in the gun and screw the pressure plate under the cartridge all the way up until you hear it puncture the end of the cartridge. Do not over tighten it with a wrench, just make it thumb tight. See your owners manual on how to install the CO2 cylinderYou don't take the seal off the 12 gram CO2 cartridge.
