Though the morphers featured in Power Rangers all come from different sources they can be split into two broad categories: Magic-based or Science-based.
Magic-Based
These morphers are often created by some form of spell or enchanted item. The most promiment examples being found in Power Rangers : Wild Force and Power Rangers : Mystic Force. It is also often a common feature of magic-based teams to feature zords in the forms of animals although this distinction becomes blurred in later series.
Science-Based
These morphers are always based on technology, be it alien (PRIS), futuristic (PRTF) or simply advanced human technology (PRLR).
Keep in mind that the morphing grid is controlled by two sides good and evil this balance allows for the transformation to take place in either case. Also it take a great power source to create and maintain the transformation. This was explained by Zordon to the rangers when the command center was attacted by Lord Zedd after he destroyed their original power coins nd turned them into younger children. the ranges had to find the ZEO Crystal to regain there powers and there corrected age.
Using advanced science at the time of the Dino Thunder Rangers Tommy Oliver used the Dino Jems that where not magic in origin, but a source of power. This was revieled in SPD Episode where they are transported into the future and Dr. Manx recharges the jems and explians that they will only work for a short while.
Inconsistensies With "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers"
The power coins featured in MMPR present a problem to this classification as while they feature advanced alien technology but with a combination of magic, i.e. the Power Coins themselves.
The Orginal Power Coins and Morph where created by Ninjor, as Zordon told the power rangers in the beginning of the TV Series not he The Power Rangers first movie.
Orginal the power coins could only be transfered to another ranger, since the ancient sword was recovered by the original rangers. The power coins and there powers can be given to any person they choose.

β 13y agoYou can buy a toy morpher from any good store but if you want to make real one then sorry to burst your bubble, you can't, it's a show. Possibly in the future you might be able to make a small device that can instantly change you into a high-tec super powered suit but in less you have a time machine, are friends with doctor who or have a life elixer then sorry, no can do
