You would be able to go and buy them in a store but in the testing of a Hoverboard someone was seriously injured cuz its easie to fall off. But if you want to build one (wich most people do) get really big magnets about 5 inches long get big batteries such as D,C, or 9V.(You will need alot of them) use about 3-5 batteries. UPDATE:
I have since found flaws and errors in my design and have made improvements. It went through many stages and now i found one that may work using industrial super-electro-magnets that run on industrial-size, industrial-power batteries. With a very difficult order of smaller and smaller magnets at different angles. I don't want to give to much info though, if this works, i could make millions. Because REALLY who don't want a hoverboard!? There was even one stage the hoverboard went trough when i thought it would need a nuclear reactor to generate enough power. but still, my idea may fail.
