Most piercings aren't actually TOO bad because the adrenaline rush overpowers that. Otherwise, if you really do have a fear of the pain, just get a bit of numbing ointment and take it to the piercers. Don't apply it yourself before hand - the piercer should know what to do.

You can make it numb. You can use an ice cube or something like that, or even a really cold spray. Ask the piercer if they have something like that.

Well you can't get around the hurting part unless there was a way to inject some numbing stuff in it first, but then the shot might hurt as well. But I wouldn't do that. And I hope you're getting this done professionally. If you do it youself then you run the risk of major infection, even though people tell you all you have to do is clean it real well. I have a friend that cleaned it the best she could and it still got infected. So get an adult/professional to do it. But back to your question...you most likely won't be able to get around the hurt. Just close your eyes and hold someone's hand reall tigh until it's over. Hope it works out for you:)

If you put needles in your body it's going to hurt. You can lessen the pain with ice but it will still feel like a piercing. If you can get some anaesthetic you wont feel it but ear piercing isn't exactly painful anyway. Endorphins will kick in after you get pierced so it's not so bad.

I don't know your pain level, so I don't know what you can tolerate. But I pierced my cartlige twice and my tragus myself and used ice. I held the ice there until it got really numb and tested the needle and I couldn't really feel it. I was a little nervous, so I took it slow, and the ice wore off, but I'm pretty sure if you do it fast, you won't feel it. But after that it hurts, but it's a tender hurt. hope this helped some :)

I don't think you can make it absolutely painless. I've had my ears pierced by a friend with a sewing needle, a gun and a professional piercer with a piercing needle. The only one that really hurt was the one done by the friend with the needle. The gun I could hardly feel and I wouldn't have called what I did feel painful, and the piercing needle was even less noticeable. And when you pay someone to pierce your ears, it's over really quickly anyway.

Listen the pain is a split second if that, and it's such a minor issue that it's not even worth worrying about. The worst part of the piercing process is what is going on in your head, relax............... See a professional body piercer and you will be amazed at how simple and painless the process can be when in the hands of a professional body piercer. Don't use topical numbing agents on your ears before the piercing, it swells the tissue then makes getting the piercings straight difficult, just relax and trust a professional.
