You need to brush through the tail first using a main comb or a body brush. Dampen it with a sponge, and then take three small sections from the top. Start plaiting those, and every time you reach the third section, add in another little bit of hair, from a different side each time. When you get about a third of the way down the tail, stop adding in bits and just plait normally down to almost the bottom. Tie the end with a plaiting band and then double up the single plait and loop it under itself. Finally secure the loop with an elastic band!
Braiding a tail can be hard to do. I suggest looking for a online video.
hold all of your hair in the back of your head.
put a hair elastic on your wrist

repeat until tight

The hair on the horses neck is called a mane.
They have no nerves in their mane. They do in their tail, and forelock. Thatis why we only pull their mane.
They don't have a Maine. It's a mane.
The mane is to keep the neck warm for the horse, and to help rain run off it's neck lf the horse can't find any shelter. It also gives the horse some fly protection, although the tail is usually the best protection against flies. Also the mane is just like our hair! It is just something that naturally grows. You can do almost anything with the mane! Hogging the mane just means shaving it off, this is done in Cobs, but some other breeds as well. In America it is known as Roaching. You can also plait/braid the mane for special shows, to make the neck look more fancy. Hope this helped =)
This is called the mane. The hair that dangles between a horse's ears is called the forelock.
They put a small plait in the mane of the horse. Usually, they'll get another gypsy to get back later that night to feel the horses to see which have been marked/plaited and they then steal them. If you own a horse and you find a plait in your horses mane, take it out straight away.
There is no reason not to plait or braid an Arabians mane unless it is against show or association rules. However many Arabians with longer fuller manes look good in a running or french braid.
when you clip the mane close to the horses neck it is called a hogged mane, so if you were cutting the mane off, then you would say you were hogging his mane.
You are unable to plait your horse's tail or put a ribbon in, sadly.
