Usually you will not repeat 6th grade if you only fail one subject. If you got a b on a report but got low grades on tests and classwork, you could fail. I would suggest that you talk with your teacher, now, ask her/him, and also, see if there is anything that you can do to bring your average up. It's very important to let your teacher know that you really care and are willing to work, even though the school year is almost over.

I wouldn't consider a B- a bad grade in an algebra class. However, if you'd like to improve, try to take a look at what you have been doing that might've brought your grade down a little. Have you been forgetting to hand in homework (which can bring you from an A to a B- with some grading systems)? Could you study harder for tests? And, remember, it's not always the grade that your report card reads that matters, its what you are getting from the lesson. If you feel that you are learning and trying in algebra, you are fine! However, if the grade could've been higher if you had put some effort in (this is more completing tasks, staying on track, etc), then you can look at that. Effort is key! A B- is not a bad grade as long as you are trying. To me, the fact that you even took the time to ask about this shows that you care and are concerned about your success. That's good!
