Granite is mined out of the ground in large blocks, usually up to 3metres long by about 1.5 metres square. These individual blocks are cut into multiple'slabs' of the requisite thickness, usually 20mm or 30mm thick, using a huge reciprocating arm attached to a series of blades. It's a bit like a bread slicer, only it takes a bit longer to cut through, usually about a week

∙ 14y agoGranite is an item that can only be mined at the quarry south of the Bandit Camp in the Kharidian Desert. In the quarry, as in the desert, desert heat will continually reduce the player's Hitpoints unless the player has waterskins in inventory, or is wearing an Enchanted water tiara. Prior to January 2007, no water was required in the quarry.
