People tend to play rummi (Rummikub) in different variations. But the basic rules are the same:
The game is played with two decks of cards, including two jokers, or with numbered tiles in four different colours.
At the start of each game, each player is dealt 14 cards or tiles.
In turns, you must try and play your cards or tiles in melds of size three or more. There are two kinds of meld: cards (tiles) of the same suit (colour), in sequence; or cards (tiles) of the same face value in different suits (colours).
You may add your cards (tiles) to existing melds on the table, and you may break up melds and use its cards (tiles) elsewhere on the table.
Jokers may be used in place of any other card (tile). In variations of the game, there are restrictions on how to replace a joker, or where you can reuse it. The easiest variation of the game has no such restrictions.
If you can't play, or if you don't want to play, you have to draw one more card (tile) from the pool and your turn passes.
Generally, the game is played so that in the first turn where you actually play cards (tiles), you have to play new melds from your hand with a total face value of 30 or more.
The first player that plays all his cards (tiles) wins the game.
