The traditional medical-psychiatric view of "mental illness."

In the 1700-1800s, physicians did not understand the "body-mind" or "body-brain" connection. Most times a person was declared "insane"when, in fact, they had a brain infection such as meningitis. Sadly, most of these people suffered and died while in county homes or state insane asylums.

Finally, with the discovery of bacteria and viruses, more people received treatment for the medical problems that affect the brain and can cause "insanity".

Medical scientists now believe many forms of "mental illness" are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. For example, many types of depression can be treated if the serotonin levels in the brain are more balanced.

Some "mental illnesses" are not treatable at this time. What has been labeled "Anti-social Personality" disorder is considered untreatable as are most illnesses that include the lack of a moral conscience.

One Alternative View of the "Mind" and of "Mental Disorders". NOTE: These views are not widely believed, supported, or accepted within traditional medical or psychiatric fields.

1. We must clearly distinguish beliefs, scientific facts and absolute facts. Absolute facts never change and therefore they must be considered as the most sacred.

2. We have to believe our life is controlled by our skeletal muscular system and not by our brain or some external force. This is an absolute fact and also enables us to control our life directly.

3. We must give equal importance to our body, mind and material world. However, we give first preference to our material world and second preference to our body. We totally neglect our mind because it is invisible.

4. All the skeletal muscles of our body contract and relax isometrically as a single unit called Unified Skeletal Muscle, popularly known as mind. Thus, our life is controlled by our mind, which is nothing but part of our skeletal muscular system.

5. The mind is made of seven parts.

They are,

1. Dreaming mind

2. Illusory mind

3. Voluntary mind

4. Semi voluntary mind/ Default mind

5. Involuntary mind

6. Status altering mind

7. Compulsive mind/ Modern man's default mind

Normally we use the mind selector, which automatically selects the right mind making us to believe that there is just one mind. However, we can't use that method because we abuse our mind and the seven layered mind is thus a nonentity.

The semi voluntary mind is the default mind. However, since we want to progress at lightning speed we use compulsive mind as default mind, thus making ourselves highly susceptible to mental disorders. Thus, whenever, we can afford we must use the Semi voluntary mind as default mind.

All the seven minds are nothing but states of isometric contraction of the Unified Skeletal Muscle. Thus, often we must separate the seven minds through Original Mediation exercises. We must also know the basic properties of these seven minds.

6. We must always remember that we are created to maintain status quo and not for progressing forever.

7. The rich have money and the poor have happiness. This is because the rich use compulsive mind as default mind and the poor use the Semi voluntary mind as default mind. Thus, we should not keep progressing forever. We should not have an aversion to the poor.

8. We have to gain control over our emotions by artificially having maximum emotions by putting the muscles of facial expression into maximum isometric contraction.

9. We must learn to relax our mind completely using Original Meditation Exercises.

10. We practice to have the ability to control sleep, wakefulness and alertness.

11. We must learn to use our minds in Instinctive, Natural, Virtual and Modern modes.

12. We must learn to have all the symptoms of mental disorders artificially.

All these steps should make us immune to mental disorders.
