Make sure you wear goggles or glasses so you don't get the BBs in your eyes. I would recomend long pants and long sleaves but you don't need them they just absorb the shock of the shot a little. That's about it just goggles are really important. I love airsoft. Have fun!
If the guns you play with are high velocity wear a mouthguard. It's not hard to lose a tooth.
Make sure your goggles are high quality, ballistic approved. If they are weak, they can shatter on impact, and the shards will make the results of being hit in the eye ten times worse.
Airsoft guns are safe when used properly. The worst they can do is break the skin, break teeth, Shoot your eye out Kid. When playing airsoft you wear protection for your whole face, and there are safe engagement ranges (can't shoot from closer than 10 ft). Airsoft is a less painfull more realistic game then paintball.
Hope it helps!
To begin airsoft is simulated war. An airsoft gun shoots a small plastic pellet that fells like a pinch (depending on the gun's strength). For every real gun there is a airsoft replica, with matching "stats" such as its accuracy at long range, rate of fire, speed of pellet, which is measured by fps (feet per second). Airsoft tanks, helicopters and planes also exist (remote controlled normally, and are also very rare). There are also hand grenades and land mines.
Traditional Game: There are many different ways to play the game but the classic game is team death match. There are two teams, usually one team is marked with a colourful string (this is so the teams can tell friend from foe). The objective is to eliminate the opposition. One hit= out. Once you are hit you raise your hand and say hit to show that you have been shot, you then leave the arena until the game is over and the referee declares a new game.
Cops and Robbers: In a game of cops and robbers there are about 1/4 the amount of robbers than cops, but the police can only use hand guns and sniper rifles, while robbers can use automatic, shot guns etc. Cops: their objective is to eliminate the robbers. Robbers: Their objective is to reach a certain place, or eliminate the cops.
Terrorist: In this game one team has a "bomb" which is just a silver brief case with a timer inside. This team must get the silver brief case to the set destination, start the timer and defend it before it goes off. The other team must defend their base against the bomb.
There are more versions of the game, but there are way too many to discuss. If you have any more questions on the subject go ahead and send me them.
Helmet, face shield, body pads
Most important are eye and face protection, because getting shot in the eye will most likely make you blind, and getting shot in a tooth will most likely chip that tooth. It is also a very good idea to cover all exposed skin, because any amount of clothing between the bb and your skin will significantly reduce both pain and damage to your skin. If you are going to a serious airsoft place, especially CQB, it is also good to have knee and elbow pads to protect against stuff in the environment, like trees or walls. If you want to protect yourself even further from bb's, you can get plate carriers, which hold airsoft "body armor" which makes it pretty much impossible to feel bb's that hit you in the covered area (usually just your torso)
In my opinion, airsoft is a pretty safe sport. There is no real danger because the sport consists of people getting hit with tiny plastic BBS. There should be no eminent danger to plastic BBS hitting you because most airsoft guns are spring loaded or electric and can only shoot around 200 FPS and 370 FPS. The only danger that could seriously hurt someone in airsoft is getting hit in the eye. If someone is hit in the eye, it could cause the person to become permanently blind in the eye. However, this situation should be avoided as long as people are wearing safety glasses or face masks while shooting airsoft guns. Overall, in my opinion I believe airsoft is safe as long as people protect his or her eyes.
If by protecting yourself you mean staying out of the way of BBS you have to be alert. You have to be ready and always on your toes. You have to be fit and able to move quickly. You have to be quicker than the other guys as well. Also having a good gun that can hit a enemy from a far distance would help too. However, if by protecting yourself you mean literally not letting the BBS harm you then your going to need some gear. First and for most you need Goggles/a mask. You need those to stop the BBS from taking your eye out. Get a good set of goggles/a mask your eyes are important. Now you don't need any of the following but it might help you. A tactical vest would make the BBS hurt less/ feel no pain just a tap from BBS if you were hit in the vest. There are also many attachments for a vest including holsters, mag pouches and dump pouches and more some attachments are often included with the vest. Next you might want gloves. Gloves make it hurt less when you get hit with BBS on your hands they also make it easier to lay down and have your hands in leaves due to the fact you couldn't feel the leaves. Gloves are often padded. Next you might want boots or tough shoes. You'd want that because getting hit in the foot while wearing converse or something of the sort would hurt. You may also want elbow/knee pads they are simply for more armor and more comfort in leafy or rocky places. You may want specialized clothing or just thick clothing to protect you from the BBS. All of this is not necessary except for the eye wear.
Stay low and and stay with your team
A good way to protect urself playing airsoft is by using glasses to protect your eyes, this is the most important. A thin shirt and some shorts will do.
How to properly maintain your gun, gear, how to protect yourself (glasses, facemasks, etc)
you protect yourself by saying you have something bad--for kidnap
You could stay indoors to protect yourself.
uhmm to protect yourself from a crocodile is to... GET AWAY FROM IT?!
how can you protect yourself as therapist from inappropriate behaviourhide
You can protect yourself. You have to wear sunscreen.
The best way - go to near airsoft workshop, give them money and tell what do you want. If you decide to modify airsoft gun by yourself - be warned, this may ruin your gun and even be dangerous to your health.
It would be foolish to do so. Always protect your eyes.
To protect yourself from monsters your not supposed to attack them
Paintball lenses are rated much higher then airsoft lenses are. However your grill (the part over your nose and mouth) might have slots and holes that an airsoft pellet can get through.
how to protect yourself is don't leave food out and don't have that many trees.
