First, pull out from the kit. Second, put the end piece components together. Third, Tighten down all fasteners with the appropriate hardware. Fifth, set up the end pieces where they will stand once the bed is fully assembled. Sixth, install the top cross brace for the side of the bed closest to the wall. Seventh, install the bottom cross brace on the wall side of the bed, followed by the top cross brace on the opposite side of the bed. Eighth, tighten down all fasteners as you did for the end pieces. Finally, insert the mattress frame on top of the top cross braces. Tighten the fasteners down as you have the other fasteners.Install the mattress on top of the mattress frame. Attach any guard rails. Add any additional components.

Get out all the pieces, put together the end pieces, tighten all he bolts, then put together the rest of the bed, tighten those bolts, stand up the end pieces, attach the top brace, then the bottom brace, and any other components that need to be put together.

∙ 12y agoYou can create more floor space, while adding style and flair, to a kid's bedroom by building a loft bed.
Place a twin bed mattress on the floor and use it as a guide to build the box frame that will hold it. Use two by six redwood or pine because treated lumber isn't safe. You will need to use screws or lag bolts when assembling the bed. They are stronger than nails. Leave a few inches on either side of the mattress for linens. Use plywood or oriented strand board as the base of the box. Prime and paint all pieces before assembly. Measure the height of the ceiling. You will want at least a three foot clearance from the top of the bed to the ceiling. Cut four support posts of equal length. Assemble the box. Position the support posts and secure them in place and strengthen them with horizontal braces. Lift the mattress box on top of the support posts and secure it with lag bolts. Construct a ladder out of two inch slats for added strength with a slant of approximately sixty degrees. Secure it to the bed frame with screws so it doesn't fall over and leave someone stranded in the bed.
You are now free to use the space under the bed as a place for a bureau, a desk or the space can be used as a sitting or play area.
