Ok, now this is interesting, and is much easier done with the tranmission pan off. To replace the detent cable, you start off by unsnapping the cable from the throttle body, then where the cable snaps into the bracket, squeeze the 2 sides together and push it out of the bracket. Now, go underneath the vehicle, and trace your cable to the tranmission, you will have a single bolt that holds it there. Take that bolt out and pull your cable out, now this is where its interesting, the end of your cable is specially bent to fit to the bracket in the transmission, this is why i said its much easier with the pan off, because, with the pan off you can push the little bracket that the detent cable goes in up, therefore allowing you to snap your detent cable with ease. Then put it all back together.
When not used, they do get stuck and hard to shift. I had this with my 93. I put it in neutral and forced it into 4 wheel low. After it went, it is now easier to shift into.
wat other motor can i put in my 2001 chevy blazer
can I put a 99 Chevy 4l60e transmission in my 86 k5 chevy blazer
It should be bolted to the engine block anywhere you can put it. Make sure it is on cast iron.
disconnect the 91 blazer cables at the battery. One at a time, disconnect the cable at the opposite end, then pull it out. Put the new cable in, routing it the same way, then connect the non battery end. do the same for the other cable, then connect the cables to the battery.
Take the negative battery cable off for 5 mins. Then put back on and go drive it a few miles.
Yes, if it fits the holder.
Yes it will, but you have to put all the blazer engine stuff onto the beretta engine...

Yes, you can put a 1998 4WD S10 drive-train on a 1997 Chevy Blazer. However, it will not be an easy process and will require a lot of work to get it installed correctly.
