How do you put on neopets backgrounds?

A full list of the wearable backgrounds can be found either on the wearables guide, page http://www.neopets.com/~Echoh or you can try item databases such as the one on jellyneo. They can be bought from user shops or from shops such as Mystical Surroundings in the Lost Desert.

What you must do is to go to my account on the bar that has "explore","news","games",etc. and click on preferences and scroll down until you get to the second bottom preference on the manilla background and there you go just pick your theme/color

First, make sure you put the background into your closet, by clicking on the background and selecting, "Put into Closet." Then, if you wish to dress up your active neopet, you can simply click the, 'Customize' button underneath the picture of your active neopet. If you wish to customize a different neopet, click on your active neopet's picture which will lead you to the Quick Reference Page. You can see all the images of your neopets, and by customizing them, you click on the small arrow next to there picture and click, "Customize." It should be the second from the top.
